Freedom Sports

Softball • Volleyball • Basketball — One community. Three sports. One movement.

A community sports initiative from Rock Sound, Eleuthera — built to empower, impact and influence through sports, service and community connection.

Who We Are

More than a gym.
Now a movement on the field and court.

Freedom Fitness is a place where people discover their potential, develop confidence and become part of something meaningful. Freedom Sports extends that mission onto the field and court — building teams that compete with determination, represent Eleuthera with pride and contribute positively to our communities. Our players are recognised for their character, teamwork and service alongside their athletic performance.

Our Purpose

Mission, vision & values

Our Mission

To develop disciplined, confident and community-minded athletes through softball, volleyball and basketball, while promoting healthy living, meaningful relationships and a commitment to serving others.

Through organised sports, Freedom Sports helps participants strengthen their abilities, embrace responsibility and use their influence to make a positive difference.

Our Vision

To become a respected community sports programme in Eleuthera — known for competitive excellence, inclusive participation, strong leadership and consistent community service.

We envision a movement where players grow into leaders, teams bring communities together, and sport creates pathways to healthier lives and greater opportunity.

Excellence

Pursue progress in performance, preparation, conduct and leadership.

Our Goals

What we're building

Build Strong, Competitive Teams

Organised teams with consistent training, dependable leadership and a clear identity — working towards leagues, tournaments, community games and friendly competitions as opportunities become available.

Promote Health and Active Living

Regular physical activity, strength, endurance, coordination and sustainable fitness habits — through access to Freedom Fitness and team conditioning.

Develop Character and Leadership

Sport teaches accountability, communication, resilience, time management and responsible decision-making. Players learn to lead by example and respond to victory and disappointment with maturity.

Strengthen Community Relationships

Bringing together residents from across Eleuthera — connecting players, families, businesses and community organisations around a positive purpose.

Create Opportunities for Development

Skill improvement, coaching and competitive experience — with development sessions, where capacity allows, to help less experienced players prepare for future opportunities.

Make Service Part of Team Culture

Giving back is a regular responsibility of every team. Players contribute time and effort to initiatives that benefit the wider community.

Build a Sustainable Programme

Player dues, sponsorships, fundraising and community partnerships combine to support the practical needs of our teams and their continued development.

Monthly Player Dues

One dues payment. A season of support.

$80–$120per player, per month — confirmed before you commit, based on sport, team arrangements and programme needs.

Players are expected to pay dues on time. Anyone experiencing difficulty should communicate privately with team management before the payment deadline so arrangements can be discussed.

  • Gym membership — access to Freedom Fitness Centre for fitness development and conditioning.
  • Community initiatives — service projects, outreach activities and team contributions to the community.
  • Team travel — transportation and related expenses for approved games, tournaments and activities.
  • Team uniforms — purchase, production and replacement of team apparel.
  • Sports equipment — providing and maintaining equipment for training and competition.
  • Programme expenses — competition registration and other agreed team operating needs.

Dues contribute towards these expenses; the extent of coverage depends on available funds and the cost of each activity. Membership arrangements, payment schedule and any additional costs are explained clearly before participation.

Community Service Commitment

We train together. We compete together.
We serve together.

Wearing the Freedom name means accepting an opportunity to contribute beyond competition. Each team works towards completing at least one organised community service activity per quarter, scheduled around players' work, school and family commitments.

Clean-ups

Community, beach, roadside and recreation space clean-ups.

Fitness days

Support for community fitness days and wellness events.

Youth clinics

Youth sports clinics and supervised skills sessions.

School support

Assistance with school and community sporting activities.

Drives

Food, clothing, school supply and sporting equipment drives.

Seniors

Support for senior citizens through organised community partnerships.

Fundraising

Fundraising and volunteering for suitable local causes.

Facilities

Helping prepare and maintain shared sports facilities.

Anyone unable to attend a designated service activity should communicate with team leadership and arrange an appropriate alternative contribution.

Player Requirements

What it takes to wear the name

Registration & Eligibility

Complete the official application with accurate contact information, an emergency contact and your preferred sport or sports. Meet the eligibility requirements announced for your team and competition. Participants under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian.

Financial Commitment

Agree to the applicable monthly dues ($80–$120), follow the payment schedule and communicate promptly about any payment difficulties. Additional financial responsibilities are disclosed before you commit.

Commitment & Attendance

Attend scheduled practices, games, team meetings, conditioning sessions and community service activities. Punctuality and reliability are expected — notify your coach or team manager early when you can't attend. Repeated unexplained absences may affect playing opportunities or roster status.

Fitness & Safe Participation

Participate in appropriate conditioning and skill development. Communicate injuries or health concerns privately to the appropriate team leader, report injuries promptly, follow safety instructions and obtain medical clearance when needed.

Coachability & Teamwork

Receive instruction, accept constructive feedback and work respectfully with teammates. Talent is valuable — attitude, effort and dependability are essential to a strong team.

Conduct & Representation

Follow the code of conduct and represent Freedom Sports responsibly during practices, competitions, community activities and public appearances. Required consent, acknowledgement and participation forms must be completed before participating.

Recruitment & Team Selection

Experienced players and those willing to develop are both encouraged to apply. Where rosters are limited, selection considers ability and potential, attendance and availability, effort and attitude, teamwork and sportsmanship, fitness, positional needs, and commitment to programme responsibilities.

Applying does not guarantee a competitive roster position — coaches may use tryouts, training sessions or an assessment period. Payment of dues does not guarantee playing time; opportunities depend on preparation, attendance, performance and team needs, communicated fairly by team leadership.

Player Code of Conduct

Ten commitments, one standard

  1. Respect coaches, teammates, officials, opponents and spectators.
  2. Compete fairly and follow the rules of the sport.
  3. Avoid fighting, threats, bullying, harassment and discriminatory behaviour.
  4. Arrive on time and prepared to participate.
  5. Care for uniforms, equipment and facilities.
  1. Avoid alcohol or illegal drug use during team activities — never participate while impaired.
  2. Use social media responsibly and protect private team and player information.
  3. Raise concerns respectfully through the coach or team manager.
  4. Honour financial, training and community service commitments.
  5. Accept responsibility for mistakes and work towards improvement.

Breaches may result in a discussion, warning, suspension or removal depending on seriousness. Players will have an opportunity to explain their concerns; team leadership may act immediately where safety requires it.

Coaching & Team Leadership

Coaches and managers organise training, communicate schedules, support player development and maintain programme standards. Captains encourage accountability, welcome new players and strengthen communication. Leadership models the conduct expected of players, with respectful, development-focused coaching — and appropriate supervision and safeguarding wherever minors participate.

Sponsorship & Support

Freedom Fitness Centre is the sponsoring organisation behind Freedom Sports. Dues work alongside sponsorship support, fundraising and partnerships to sustain the teams. We also welcome support from local businesses, schools, community groups and individuals — equipment donations, uniforms, transportation, venue access, refreshments, competition sponsorship or contributions towards community projects.
